Matt’s dad, my wonderful father-in-law, recently passed away, and the pain of the loss has been overwhelming. His absence is deeply felt, and the family is grieving while also trying to celebrate his life. There’s nothing like a loss this profound to make you wake up and reflect on your own life—the mortality of it all. Losing him has made all of us, especially Matt, look inward and outward to process the heavy emotions and embrace the reminder that life is short.
